So much good music is coming out of Norway at the moment, including 'The River' by Ida Stein. I've been listening to it for a couple of months now, and the more I hear it, the better it gets. It's beautifully constructed, made up of what seems to be endless layers of sounds and percussion that slowly build in an almost hypnotic way. By the time the track peaks, it totally soars, taking you with it before gently floating you back to the ground. Add an ethereal yet insistent vocal effortlessly pinning everything together, and you're on to a winner.
