There's always a risk when two people you have followed for many years and honestly believe are masters of their respective crafts decide to combine talents in the studio. 'The Skin I'm In' is the first taster from Hifi Sean and David McAlmont's upcoming album project, and it's one of the most confident and polished artistic statements that I've heard in a very long time. It's a masterclass in songwriting, vocals and production. Hypnotic, effortlessly smooth, but with a slightly tense feeling that keeps you on your toes until the end. I doubt we'll hear a better song this year.
